West Papua’s “Freedom” Flag
On December 1, 1961, the Dutch flag that had flown over the peninsula of West Papua for more than 130 years was replaced by the “Morning Star” flag. This signified an important transition for West Papua – away from colonialism, to a new start as a free nation.

Lush launched a nationwide campaign in the Netherlands
Following the huge success of their Free West Papua campaign in UK stores, today Lush launched a nationwide campaign in the Netherlands.
The below photo was taken earlier today outside their store in Amsterdam.

A Morning Star flag is in the window of each store, and leaflets and postcards will be distributed to shoppers. Free West Papua!

Floods and landslides in Indonesia kill more than 100
More than 100 people are now known to have died in flooding in the eastern Indonesian province of West Papua.

Scores more are still missing in Teluk Wondama district after flash floods and landslides that were triggered when a river burst its banks.

Hundreds of people have been injured and more than 5,000 are being housed in tents set up in emergency camps. [ Visit Website ]
