In fact, the Indonesian Government have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnnindonesia.com\/nasional\/20151213103053-20-97861\/lsm-internasional-tutup-kantor-di-papua\/\" target=\"_hplink\" data-beacon=\"{&quot;p&quot;:{&quot;mnid&quot;:&quot;entry_text&quot;,&quot;lnid&quot;:&quot;citation&quot;,&quot;mpid&quot;:18}}\">forced all foreign NGOs to leave West Papua<\/a>. One can only conclude that this is an attempt to try and stop news of further killings being investigated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-list-component mt-paragraph text\">\n<p>The Chairperson of the Law Enforcement and Human Rights Advocacy in West Papua, himself stated recently that such military operations are evidence that the Indonesian government is not able to resolve the issues in West Papua. Calling for a political approach rather than simply a military or developmental approach, he said that operations like this will \u201cresult in more human rights violations\u201d and would \u201cadd to the bad image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-list-component mt-paragraph text\">\n<p>But amidst all the suffering, there is also hope. Just days after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipwp.org\/ipwp-news\/historic-meeting-on-west-papuas-future-takes-place-in-british-parliament\/\" target=\"_hplink\" data-beacon=\"{&quot;p&quot;:{&quot;mnid&quot;:&quot;entry_text&quot;,&quot;lnid&quot;:&quot;citation&quot;,&quot;mpid&quot;:19}}\">landmark Westminster meeting<\/a> on West Papuan self-determination, there was more historic support for the people of West Papua as yesterday the Solomon Islands Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare <a href=\"http:\/\/pmpresssecretariat.com\/2016\/05\/12\/pm-sogavare-holds-successful-dialogue-vanuatu-counterpart\/\" target=\"_hplink\" data-beacon=\"{&quot;p&quot;:{&quot;mnid&quot;:&quot;entry_text&quot;,&quot;lnid&quot;:&quot;citation&quot;,&quot;mpid&quot;:20}}\">announced<\/a> that he had met with Vanuatu Prime Minister Hon. We would like to convey our deepest thanks once again to Hon. Manasseh Sogavare, Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands and Hon.
