46 people who are Fakfak-West Papua civilians were arrested by Indonesia Military

An urgent report from West Papua says that 1982 TAPOL/NAPOL (Political prisoners) network has raised a morning star flag (West Papuan independence flag) in GEDUNG PEPERA (Act of Free Choice building) in Fakfak at 4.00am today. Please watch and observe the situation. About 30 people have been arrested by the police.

At 4.32am West Papua time, 46 people who are Fakfak-West Papua civilians were arrested with their leader, Simon Tuturop, an ex-political prisoner from 1982 incident.

The morning star flag was raised in front of GEDUNG PEPERA/the archives office of Fakfak regency. The 46 people that were arrested were beaten and were striped naked. They only wore underwears. This is a temporary and a brief report. We could not give full details as we are not allowed to get nearer to the arrested people.

The police had threatened us by saying that they would do sweeping operations in all villages.
