West Papua activist targeted
by Indonesian Intelligence last night

The Indonesian Intelligence operation against West Papua activists is still continuing. This time they targeted the Chairman of the Front PEPERA PB, Victor F. Yeimo, in Nabire, West Papua.


An Indonesian Intelligence agent entered Viktor’s room and stole his bag and his cellular mobile phone, while he was sleeping last night [Wednesday 4th June 2008].

According to information via Jhones Doo of the Peace and Justice Commission GKIP [Gereja Kemah Injil Papua (Tabernacle Bible Church of Papua)] in Nabire, who was in the place where the incident occurred, this NKRI [Republic of Indonesia] intelligence rudeness was carried out at 03.25 a.m. when Victor had just fallen asleep after typing a letter.



Victor has said that he closed the door and switched off his mobile phone as well as his laptop next to his body. He was shocked when his mobile phone and his bag had gone and the door to the room had been opened.

The Intelligence agent ran away and left by motorcycle. His motorcycle had the flag of Indonesia, Merah Putih [Red & White] on it.



The people in that area [Nabire] said that many Indonesian Intelligence agents move around by motorcycle to intimidate and torture all activists of West Papua. Jhones Doo from the Peace and Justice Commission of GKIP said he is often tortured and terrorised by Indonesia Intelligence in Nabire.

Victor said he had just arrived in Nabire. “For the past two days, Indonesian Intelligence have been watching and following me. Now they have stolen my mobile to get some information about the West Papuan struggle for Merdeka [Freedom]"
