Morning Star raised for Free West Papua as Chinese Olympic "torch of shame" carried through the streets of London

The Chinese regime not only abuses its own people and oppresses the indigenous people of occupied-Tibet ...it also actively supports other like-minded regimes - Burma, Sudan (Darfur), Zimbabwe and Indonesia.

China is one of Indonesia's key allies in its illegal occupation of West Papua, supplying weapons to kill Papuans and diplomatic support in ASEAN & the UN. (Democracies like Britain, Australia and the USA should question themselves on how they find themselves following exactly the same policy on West Papua as the Chinese dictatorship?)

China is a major consumer of copper from the Freeport/Rio Tinto mine in West Papua, it will become one of the principal customers for BP West Papua's natural gas when it comes on stream later this year, and last year the China National Oil Corporation signed a deal with the Indonesian company PT Sinar Mas Agro to clear West Papuan rainforests for vast oil palm plantations.

In London on 6th April 2008, the freedom flag of West Papua flew proudly alongside the flag of Free Tibet.
